Norfolk Open Churches Classic Car Run

03 August 2019
08:00 - 17:00
Motoring enthusiasts are invited to join in with the 2019 Norfolk Open Churches Classic Car Run.

The event - which starts at Norwich Cathedral - will take place on Saturday 3 August and people can sign up now to secure their place on this popular day out.

Every year Norfolk Open Churches Classic Car Run kicks off the Norfolk Open Churches Week and this year the theme of the run is Breckland and Forests.

Starting from Norwich Cathedral, the route will feature about 30 Churches and will end at a location in the heart of Breckland where there will be a short ‘pit-stop’ service which will be led by the Revd Caryll Brown and the Rt Revd Alan Winton, Bishop of Thetford.

Light refreshments will be available at selected Churches and the route will also pass by a number of pubs and cafes. Snacks and drinks will also be available at the final church.

Norfolk Open Churches Classic Car Run is organised by Richard Mitchell and Maurice Gowen with the help of the Norwich Diocesan office.

Profits from the event will go towards the maintenance and upkeep of Norwich Cathedral.

The entry fee is £20 for a car with a driver and one passenger. Extra passengers cost  £5 each.

The entry fee provides you with coffee or tea and a pastry or sausage roll in the Refectory Café before the start of the run, a Rally Plaque; and a detailed route book.

People can arrive any time from 8am onwards on the day and the first cars will leave Norwich Cathedral at 9am.
