Rogation days have traditionally been the time when the Church has prayed for those who work on the land and for a good harvest. The theme has been expanded in recent years to give thanks to God for our diverse skills, to ask his blessing on all human labour and to pray for a responsible use of the earth’s resources.

This service is followed by the ‘Beating of the Bounds’ - a procession to the riverbank, across to Bishopgate and then back to the Cathedral - before a picnic in the Cloisters.
