Body Image: Ecclesiology in 1 Corinthians
*Rescheduled from July 2016*

One of the most dominant metaphors for the church in the Christian Tradition is 'the body of Christ'. In this teaching session we will explore the significance of this image within the Corinthian correspondence and consider its importance to Paul's theology. We will also assess its continuing relevance to our contemporary understanding of the church. It would be helpful if participants could bring a copy of the bible with them and perhaps in advance of the session to read some extracts from 1 Corinthians. Certificate in Christian Studies: In-depth option in subject area 2, New Testament

Tutor: Julian Pursehouse

Cost: £10
