A winner of four British Jazz Awards, saxophonist Karen Sharp graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music and on moving to London in 1999 quickly made her mark. She was a member of Humphrey Lyttleton’s band for 3 years and after leaving continued to establish herself with her own quartet and with singers Tina May and Jacqui Dankworth. Her latest quartet album Spirit was critically acclaimed in The Observer and leading jazz publications.
Seasoned professional London jazz musicians Gareth Fowler, Arnie Somogyi and Euan Palmer also feature in this four-piece performance.
