Her Majesty the Queen officially celebrates her 90th birthday this year on the weekend of 10-12 June.

To mark the occasion there are special events taking place up across the country and we’ll be getting involved here at Norwich Cathedral!

On Sunday 12 June Bishop Graham James will preach at our Festal Evensong service at 3.30pm, which will be followed by a picnic party at 4.30pm on the Upper Close Green (if wet, the picnic will be in the Cloisters!).

Members of the community are very welcome to join us. Guests can bring bring their own picnics (plus chairs and rugs!) or alternatively enjoy a range of food on offer including cream teas, cake and ice creams! There will also be a selection of sideshows and entertainment, helping to make the afternoon a wonderful celebration of this joyful occasion. These will include a bouncy castle, children's activities with Johnny Jaffacake, a cake & plant stall, tombola, music and outdoor games!

To make the event particularly special we have invited people from all over the Diocese who are also celebrating their 90th birthday this year to come and attend the service – as well as join the Bishop in cutting a larger than normal birthday cake!
