The Cloisters

One of the most complete features from the Middle Ages in England, The Cloisters at Norwich Cathedral are the biggest of their kind in the country.

Take time to wander down these sweeping vaulted walkways, which feature elegantly carved stonework and medieval roof bosses.

In 2012 a new lighting system was installed in The Cloisters, as part of the Cathedral’s ongoing Lighting Project.

This was the first time that The Cloisters had benefitted from permanent lighting and, as well as enhancing the many features of The Cloisters, now means that the space can be enjoyed by our visitors in the evenings.
