Lucy Heywood

Lay Canon

Lucy has a long association with Norwich Cathedral. After growing up in various vicarages in the North, before studying and then teaching in Liverpool and Bristol respectively, she was appointed the Visitor & Education Officer at the Cathedral. It was the early days in the development of a welcome ministry and Lucy worked on significant projects including the 900th celebrations and the fundraising campaign for the new Hostry and Refectory buildings. In 1997 Lucy married husband Stephen in the Cathedral and, after leaving her role in 2000 to dedicate her time to raising their two children Felix and Beatrice, continued her involvement as a member of the congregation, a choir mum and member of the Friends' of Norwich Cathedral council. The Dean was delighted to welcome Lucy onto Chapter in Spring 2016.
