Cathedral opening times

Norwich Cathedral is usually open seven days a week from 7.30am until 6.30pm. All are welcome to enjoy the Cathedral and Cloister for quiet reflection, individual prayer, the lighting of candles and to enjoy the Cathedral's history and heritage.

Please note that on both Saturday 25 June and Sunday 26 June the Nave will be closed to visitors from 10am until 12 noon to allow the Petertide Ordinations to take place. The east end of the Cathedral will remain open to visitors.

On Wednesday 29 June, the Nave will be closed to visitors from 10am until 12.30pm due to the Bishop's Teaching Morning taking place. The east end of the Cathedral will remain open.

On Friday 8 July, there will also be limited access to the Cathedral from 11.15am until 12.15pm due to the Norwich School end of term service taking place.

On Friday 8 and Saturday 9 July, the Cloister will close to the public at 4.30pm due to the Shakespeare Festival taking place on both evenings.


Free guided tours of the Cathedral usually take place Monday to Saturday at 10am, 11am, 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. No booking is required and the tours start by the Font in the Nave. Cathedral Tours are subject to guide availability.

Jarrold at the Refectory Cafe is usually open every day from 10.30am until 3.30pm.
