Dippy event for Blue Light workers

14 October 2021
Emergency services workers are invited to a special preview of Dippy at Night - a light spectacular celebrating Dippy the dinosaur in the final week of his stay at Norwich Cathedral. The preview is a thank you for the tireless dedication and commitment shown by members of the emergency services throughout the pandemic.

The Blue Light Dippy at Night preview is on Sunday 24 October and emergency services workers can apply for free Blue Light Tickets for them and up to four members of their family via this webpage.

Following the preview evening, Dippy at Night will be open to the general public on October 25-26 and 28-30.

The evening light spectacular will see the much-loved Diplodocus cast illuminated in an entirely new way in the Nave of Norwich Cathedral, giving visitors the chance to experience a different side to the nation’s favourite dinosaur in the final days of his nationwide tour.

There will also be the opportunity to explore the rest of Dippy’s exhibition and his medieval home in all its evening splendour. You will also be able to discover even more dinosaurs under the moonlight in the Cloister as the GoGoDiscover T. rex sculptures, which decorated Norwich's streets this summer, will be gathered here to say farewell to Dippy.

Dippy at Night will take place on most evenings throughout Dippy's last week at the Cathedral but the very first evening is being reserved especially for emergency services workers and their families. The Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk and other civic dignitaries will be there welcome you and say a big thank you for all that you do and there will also be free light refreshments during the evening.

Following the preview evening, Dippy at Night will be open to the general public on October 25-26 and 28-30.
