The programme for this year's Hostry Festival at Norwich Cathedral, which takes place in October, has been announced and will celebrate diversity, inclusivity and creativity.

The centrepiece of the festival is the premiere of Total Ensemble Theatre Company’s Boy in the Lighthouse. The Norfolk theatre company, which includes talented performers with special needs or disabilities, will perform the commissioned show for six nights.

The Dean of Norwich, the Very Rev Jane Hedges, said: “I’m so pleased that this year Total Ensemble Theatre Company’s production of the Boy In The Lighthouse is at the centre of the festival, as I know that their work brings so much joy to all who are participating and to their audiences. We look forward to a thoroughly entertaining time celebrating the creative spirit very much alive at the heart of Norfolk and Norwich."

The Festival will also again include the Paint Out Norwich competition, which challenges artists to create artwork in the open air around Norwich.

On Friday 19 October ITV’s Nina Nannar and the BBC’s Nick Conrad will present the 2018 Norfolk Arts Awards in association with the EDP, celebrating the arts through 16 different awards.

There is more drama, dance, music and discussions including conversations with journalists Gavin Hewitt and Matt Freil and actress and comedian Sally Phillips. The Bishop of Norwich, Rt Rev Graham James will also be profiled in a special one hour interview.
