27 June 2017
Following the success and popularity of previous pilgrimages to the Holy Land, the Bishop has announced another pilgrimage to take place from Monday 12 March - Monday 19 March 2018 to be led by The Very Revd Jane Hedges, Dean of Norwich. It is open to anyone in the Diocese and a few places are still available.

Bishop Graham writes:

'The overwhelming popularity of our pilgrimages to the Holy Land is heartening. For the pilgrimage I am leading early in 2018 we had almost three times the number of applicants to places. I am therefore delighted to offer a further 2018 pilgrimage to be led by the Dean of Norwich, The Very Revd Jane Hedges.

The programme follows a pattern established by the pilgrimages I have led. It is designed so that you visit many of the sacred sites but see them in the context of the present day reality of life in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Visits to such bodies as the Holy Land Trust and Bethlehem University are not on usual pilgrimage itineraries but will give a significant insight into life in the Holy Land today.

As you may know, the number of Christians in the Holy Land has fallen considerably in recent decades. They long for their fellow Christians elsewhere in the world to come not just to the pilgrimage sites but to visit the “living stones” of the Church there now. This visit is designed to do that and I am sure you will receive a great deal which will inform and strengthen your ministry.

We have secured a very reasonable price for an intensive tour, which includes all flights, transport, charges, hotel bills and most meals at £1,350 based on two people sharing a twin or double room.

This pilgrimage is open anyone in the Diocese and so please consider joining the Dean; there are a few places still available.  To register an interest please email the Dean’s PA, Alison Porter (dean.pa@cathedral.org.uk)
