From Carols in the Cloister to Midnight Mass, there is lots to look forward to at Norwich Cathedral this Advent and Christmas!

Below are some key highlights:

Candlelit Advent Procession
Sunday 28 November, 6pm
Enjoy hearing carols and readings and a candlelit procession as preparations begin for Christmas.

Advent Open Evening
Friday 3 December, 6.30pm-9pm

Join us outside the West Front from 6.30pm for a 7pm service beside the outdoor crib with carols from the Cathedral Choir. Afterwards, enjoy exploring the rest of the Cathedral and the candlelit labyrinth in the Cloister. The Cathedral shop will also be open for some festive shopping.

Tree of Remembrance
Friday 3 December until Sunday 2 January

Remember a loved one by placing a star on our Tree of Remembrance. The tree will be next to the outdoor crib outside the Hostry and people can also write tributes on their stars. Donations will go to the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Messiah by Candlelight
Saturday 11 December, 7.30pm

A highlight of each Christmas season, Norwich Cathedral Chamber Choir and Norwich Baroque present their annual performance of Handel’s Messiah with a cast of internationally acclaimed soloists.

Christmas with Norwich Cathedral Choir
Friday 17 December, 7.30pm

Join our choir for this feast of Christmas music both sacred and secular with plenty of audience participation!

Carols in the Cloister
Saturday 18 December, 4pm

Enjoy a carol singalong full of festive favourites in the stunning surrounds of Norwich Cathedral’s Cloister.

Christmas Procession with Carols
Wednesday 22 December, 7pm
Thursday 23 December, 7pm
Friday 24 December, 3.30pm
Enjoy the story of Christmas told with carols and readings as the Cathedral Choir moves in procession through the whole Cathedral.

Crib Service
Friday 24 December

Fun for the whole family as the Nativity Story is brought to life. This is an informal service and we invite children to dress as characters from the Nativity story.

Midnight Mass
Christmas Eve, 11.15pm

Celebrate the birth of Jesus in this traditional service that welcomes in Christmas Day.

Family Eucharist of Christmas Day
Saturday 25 December, 10.30am

Come and sing popular carols as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Festal Evensong for Christmas Day
Saturday 25 December, 3.30pm

A traditional Evensong with carols and procession to the Crib.
