Friends event: The History of Dunwich Heath

Love affairs. Life and death. Fortunes made and lost. The History of Dunwich Heath.

Richard Symes, of the National Trust, has been researching the extraordinary and fascinating story of Dunwich Heath and he will give an illustrated talk about it on Thursday 18 November at 2.30pm in the Weston Room.

Over the last 300 years the heath has been dug up, cut down, shot over and burnt. Smugglers and shipwrecks. Submarines grey and yellow. Poets, artists and military men.  It may surprise you, but it all happened here.

Tickets are £6 for Friends of Norwich Cathedral and £9 for non-members.
