Norwich Cathedral will be transformed with a kaleidoscope of colours as part of a free festival encouraging people to discover Norwich in a new light.

Love Light Norwich will take place from 13 to 14 February and feature an amazing array of free light installations, large-scale projections and performances across the city centre.

Among the festivities each night, Melbourne-based artists Projection Teknik will be transforming Norwich Cathedral inside and out with the spectacle Love Always Wins meanwhile Illumaphonium’s Halo installation will see musical towers of glowing haloes light up the Upper Green outside the Cathedral.

People can also add a candle to the Lamps of Love installation in the Cloisters and help raise funds for Norwich Street Aid.

The Cathedral will be open until 10.30pm on all three nights of the festival.

On Friday 14 February at 6.30pm there will be a Valentine’s Parade from the Cathedral to The Forum featuring LumiDogs, a lantern procession and acclaimed French street performers Picto Facto.

Love Light Norwich is being presented by Norwich Business Improvement District and curated by Alex Rinsler, creative producer and artist, and co-creator of Blackpool’s award-winning Lightpool Festival.

Some of the many other events taking place across the city for Love Light Norwich include:

French pyrotechnic street theatre performers Cie Bilbobasso will be perfoming their widely-acclaimed production ‘Amor’ - expect to see sparks fly as the company presents a show mixed with Argentinian Tango, music and fire.

Norwich Market will become Norwich Night Market on Valentine’s Eve.
