Mediaeval Baebes (c) Mediaeval Baebes
Join the Mediaeval Baebes for an evening of music, dance and theatre on Thursday 19 December.

The Mediaeval Baebes will be performing songs from their new album A Pocketful of Posies, Christmas carol classics from their top 10 album Of Kings & Angels and the haunting and uplifting title theme for ITV’s period drama Victoria along with other contemporary and traditional songs.

After three chart-topping classical albums, an Ivor Novello Award, numerous sell-out tours of the UK, USA, Europe and Asia, and most recently, two Emmy Award nominations for their soundtrack to Victoria, the Mediaeval Baebes have established themselves as one the most successful, female-led early music and folk ensembles in Europe.

With lush, ethereal harmonies transporting the listener through myriad ancient and forgotten languages, the choir weaves its story-telling magic through original settings of mediaeval texts, as well as reinventing traditional folk songs and carols, often accompanied by a dazzling array of exotic and period instruments.

The recently released A Pocketful of Posies album, that re-creates nursery rhymes as exquisitely arranged pieces for all ages to enjoy, celebrates the ancient teaching tools that run throughout our folklore and culture. With incredible vocal harmonies that re-imagine and demystify, these stunning arrangements have been created to captivate and enthral both old and young alike.

The concert will start at 8pm. Tickets £25.
