'A Response to Afghanistan', Douglas Farthing

Reflecting on conflict during the Afghanistan War artist Douglas Farthing, retired British Army, together with artists all influenced by conflict in Afghanistan will display sketch books drawings, paintings and film describing their individual responses.

Harry Parker studied History of Art at University College London and served with the army in Iraq in 2007 and Afghanistan in 2009 as a captain in the Rifles. He is a painter and writer. 

Jules George was Sponsored by the Ministry of Defence to visit Afghanistan. Jules deployed with the 2nd Yorks operating in Helmand, producing remarkable drawings and paintings describing the ever present facets of life and death

Jevan Watkins Jones' work is underpinned by personal narrative and a sensitive attention to different states of being. Recent work has included the 'Facing-Recovering' exhibition, a dialogistic drawing project with wounded and injured soldiers, and 'Luke Hardy', a scenario/concept film produced with video artist Cinzia Cremona to tap into the world of former sniper, Luke.
