Visiting Choirs

Visiting Choirs

Norwich Cathedral welcomes visiting choirs to sing the Cathedral services when the Cathedral Choir is off-duty. Some visiting choirs are local and some come from all over the world. Parish choirs, school and college choirs and professional ensembles all help us to uphold the highest musical standards in our worship.

When do visiting choirs sing services?

During the week we welcome visiting choirs to sing Evensong most Saturdays of the year as well as Evensong and Sung Eucharist

  • during Half-Term,
  • after the major feasts of Christmas and Easter, and
  • during July and August.

How to apply

A professional standard of organ playing is essential and good forward planning of repertoire is desirable.

In the first instance a non-commercial CD recording of your choir would help us to assist you.

The Organ Scholar, Tom Primrose, can provide details of potentially vacant dates over the next year, and The Liturgy and Music Administrator, William Falconer (01603 218306), can supply you with the liturgical requirements for every service.

Do contact Tom Primrose (01603 218313) for more details.

A warm welcome

We are unable to offer overnight accommodation but a warm welcome awaits visiting musicians including
