Norwich Cathedral welcomes visiting choirs to sing the Cathedral services when the Cathedral Choir is not in residence. Some visiting choirs are local and others come from all over the world. Parish choirs, school and college choirs and professional ensembles all help us to uphold the highest musical standards in our worship.
When do visiting choirs sing services?
We welcome visiting choirs to sing at the following times:
- most Saturdays throughout the year;
- during half-term holidays;
- after the major feasts of Christmas and Easter;
- during July and August.
How to apply
Please contact The Music & Liturgy Administrator, Mrs Kristina Bartlette, to enquire about bringing a choir to sing at the Cathedral: E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org , telephone: 01603 218306
Prospective visiting choirs are asked to write with details of their membership and recent singing experience. If you have one available, a recently recorded non-commercial CD recording of your choir would help us to assist you.
Visiting choirs normally need to bring their own organist of a professional standard who is at ease with playing a large Cathedral instrument.
