The second Benedictine value by which the Cathedral identifies its mission is that of learning. We are a place where people can share in and benefit from learning.
Our work in this area is underpinned by the Cathedral’s Library, a place that oozes the history contained within its many bookshelves. It is also reflected by the wonderful facilities in the Hostry, which contains one of the finest exhibition spaces in the area, a modern education centre serving thousands of visiting school children each year, a Song School regularly filled with the sound of singing choristers and the Weston Room, which is home to conferences, training courses, talks and seminars.
Based at the Cathedral, the Norwich Centre for Christian Learning offers courses exploring aspects of faith from an ecumenical viewpoint, welcoming those from any faith or those with no faith but a lively interest. Then there are the free daily tours, offered by our knowledgeable volunteer guides, which are of such value to visiting tourists.
It all adds up to a place where people of all ages and backgrounds are made welcome and where learning and discovery enhance a visit.
