The Library

Norwich Cathedral Library reopens to the public on Tuesday 13 April 2021. The opening times are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, 10.15am to 12.30pm and 1.15pm to 3.45pm. 
Study space is available. We continue to observe distancing and other precautions in line with guidance.

Group activities continue to be suspended in line with restrictions. 

The Library’s online catalogue contains the whole of our modern theological collection and a third of the historic library catalogue. You can browse the Library catalogue here.

Records of the pre-Reformation Benedictine priory and the post-Reformation Dean & Chapter (Norwich Cathedral) are cared for and made available to researchers by the Norfolk Record Office.

Specialist Book Collections

The Library has custody of the following book collections:

The Brian Runnett Music Library

Comprises books about music and musical scores, with a particularly large collection of music for the organ. Brian Runnett was organist and master of choristers of Norwich Cathedral from 1967 - 1970.

Norfolk Parish Libraries

In conjunction with the work of the Bishop's Committee on Books and Documents, the Library holds books deposited from parishes in the Diocese of Norwich.

Norwich Diocesan Association of Ringers (NDA)

A collection on bells and bellringing, available to access by both NDA members and non-members wishing to consult its items.
