The Library

Norwich Cathedral Library is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, 10.00am to 4.00pm for 
study and borrowing. We continue to observe Covid precautions in line with guidance.

The Adam Sedgwick exhibition is open during normal library open times, until Thursday 28 October.
Adam Sedgwick (1785-1873) was a key figure in the history of geology, Woodwardian Professor of Geology at the University of Cambridge from 1818 and Canon of Norwich Cathedral from 1834. Listening Lunch
is held on Fridays at 1pm - library open from c.12.45, tea/coffee available; all welcome. It is also available live online - contact the library for the Zoom link.

Records of the pre-Reformation Benedictine priory and the post-Reformation Dean & Chapter (Norwich Cathedral) are cared for and made available to researchers by the Norfolk Record Office.

Specialist Book Collections

The Library has custody of the following book collections:

The Brian Runnett Music Library

Comprises books about music and musical scores, with a particularly large collection of music for the organ. Brian Runnett was organist and master of choristers of Norwich Cathedral from 1967 - 1970.

Norfolk Parish Libraries

In conjunction with the work of the Bishop's Committee on Books and Documents, the Library holds books deposited from parishes in the Diocese of Norwich.

Norwich Diocesan Association of Ringers (NDA)

A collection on bells and bellringing, available to access by both NDA members and non-members wishing to consult its items.
