Joining a Cathedral choir

Are there talented singers amongst your pupils?

The Cathedral has two choirs involving school age children; both choirs sing services with the male voices of the Cathedral Choir.

The normal age for boys is eight to thirteen and because of the heavy time commitment the boys receive their education at Norwich School in the Cathedral Close. Find out more

The girls are aged eleven to eighteen and are drawn from many different schools in Norwich and beyond. Find out more

The obvious reward is that any talented singer will relish making music to this very high standard in the company of equally talented peers. However singing in the Cathedral choirs also develops other less obvious skills of vital important in today's competitive world.  These include

  • teamwork,
  • confidence in self-expression, and
  • how to manage time and balance competing responsibilities.
