Sunday School

When and where

The Sunday School meets, during term time, at the Sunday 10.30 am Sung Eucharist. All ages are very welcome.

Seats are reserved in the congregation for the children, their parents and the Sunday School leaders to sit together, and a box of books is on hand to keep the young ones absorbed for times when we are all in the service. (As parents, we are all used to children sometimes making noise and not wanting to sit still - it is more relaxing to be with people that understand). The reserved seats can be found on the South side of the Nave - a steward would be happy to give directions.

During the processional hymn, the Sunday School proceed out of the service with a lighted candle to the Education room. The aim of the Sunday School is to educate in a fun environment. Lots of games, quizzes, crafts and music are incorporated into the sessions to ensure that the children enjoy themselves and enjoy being with each other. Light refreshments are often provided.

The group then returns to the Cathedral service during the offertory hymn and remain for the rest of the service.

Parents and carers of younger children are encouraged to attend and help them with the activities, however parents and carers of older children do not need to attend unless they wish to.

To find out more, parents and carers can subscribe to the weekly email by contacting the Secretary to the Canon Pastor, which gives details of the forthcoming Sunday School activities and a rota for each term. There is no commitment to attend every week and we encourage people to join us when they are able.
