Norwich Cathedral is a memorable setting for your corporate event or private party. Set in forty-four acres of its own grounds, Norwich Cathedral can offer a range of venues for hire. All are unusual and ensure your corporate event or private party will be memorable.
A choice of four very special venues for hire
- The Refectory is an award-winning modern building designed by Hopkins Architects with views of the Cathedral spire; most of our functions take place here.
- Our conference facility in the new Hostry building with its AV equipment, stage and seating for up to 200 people offers the perfect location for conferences and other like events.
- Our medieval Cloister provides an unusual setting for events.
- A marquee on the Close green is a beautiful location and can cater for large numbers; it is available by special arrangement.
The Refectory
The Refectory is generally available outside normal hours. By offering a variety of layouts and staffing levels we can cater for everything from
- a wedding reception seating 100 to
- a working breakfast, to
- canapés before a concert in the Cathedral, to
- a product launch drinks reception for 150.
For example we hosted a reception following the regional premiere of the film Dean Spanley, which was partly filmed at Norwich Cathedral.
The Hostry
This sister building to the Refectory opened last November. The Community Room is a unique space which offers remarkable views of the Cathedral as well as state of the art conference facilities.

- Our staff take a personal interest in making your event a success.
- We hold a premises licence which covers sale of alcohol, live and recorded music and dance performances. This covers, not only the Refectory, but the Cathedral and Cloister also. For special occasions we may also be able to apply for a licence to cover the upper and lower Close greens as well as later hours than our standard licence.
