Norwich Cathedral has offered thanks and prayers to God for over 900 years. It has withstood fire, riots, bombs, neglect and many other tests of time - but only because of the hard work, skill, devotion and generous donations of very many people.
You can help Norwich Cathedral in many different ways.
- You can offer your time and skills as a volunteer. Currently over 550 people help us in a wide range of volunteer roles.
- You can make a donation to the Cathedral on your own behalf or in memory of someone.
- You can contribute to the rich musical life of the Cathedral by making a donation to the Choir Endowment Fund on your own behalf or in memory of someone.
- You can join the Friends of Norwich Cathedral.
- You can buy gift membership of the Friends as a present for another. This will be a source of lasting interest and enjoyment to the recipient.
- You can leave a Legacy to Norwich Cathedral in your Will. Anyone can include the Cathedral in their will and the legacy does not have to be for a lot of money; any such legacy is free from Inheritance Tax.
Why we need your help
It is often assumed that we receive government grants and have large cash reserves. We are not shielded from the financial pressures and rising costs faced by everyone else. It is a constant struggle to cover the expense of maintaining and heating this ancient building and using it to fulfill the mission left us by our Benedictine founders.
We do not charge for entry
Everyone is welcome at the Cathedral, but we really do need your help if we are to survive and flourish for the next 900 years.
Increase the value of any donation at no cost to yourself
If you have UK tax deducted from your income please complete a Gift Aid declaration. This enables us to claim back tax you have paid so, for example, a donation of £10 becomes £12.80 at no extra cost to you or the Cathedral.
If you are interested in finding out more we have created a page of detailed Gift Aid information .
