Increase the value of any donation at no cost to yourself
If you have UK tax deducted from your income please complete a Gift Aid declaration. This enables the Cathedral to claim back the basic rate of income tax on donations, adding 25% to the money we receive. Until 2011, the Government will also pay us a further 3%, increasing to 28% the full value we receive. So, for example, a donation of £10 becomes £12.80 under the scheme, at no extra cost to you or the Cathedral.
If you are a higher rate tax-payer, you can claim the difference between basic and higher rate on your tax return.
