Mission Statement

Norwich Cathedral is a Christian presence at the heart of Norfolk, famed for its architectural merit and breathtaking beauty. But above all it is a house of prayer. For over 900 years it has stood as a witness to the Christian faith. It is this faith which inspired our founder in 1096 and which we seek to share with all who visit us in person and online.

Norwich Cathedral’s Mission Statement seeks to summarise the Cathedral’s role today. It is based on the unbroken tradition of worship, learning and hospitality first introduced by our Benedictine founder. These Benedictine principles inform all that we seek to do day by day. We invite our visitors and pilgrims to share this vision.
