Norwich Cathedral and Christian Churches in Different Countries

Norwich Cathedral and Christian Churches in Different Countries

Norwich Cathedral greatly values its links with Christian churches in different countries and of different traditions. Through friendship and exchange visits we all benefit from dialogue, joint activity, and, where appropriate, practical assistance.

Norwich Cathedral’s International Links are as follows:

The Georgian Evangelical Baptist Church (in the former Soviet Union).
Considerable financial support has been given in recent years for work with the poor and elderly, refugees etc.

The Protestant Grote Kerk in Haarlem, Holland.
An annual visit alternating between the two cities has become a regular fixture.

City of Koblenz, Germany.
Norwich is twinned with Koblenz. An annual visit alternating between the two cities involves the Cathedral and churches of other denominations in both cities.

City of Novi Sad, Serbia.
Norwich is also twinned with Novi Sad. The Cathedral gives practical support to the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organisation as a member of the Norwich Churches Novi Sad Support Group.

The Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway.
The Cathedral has close links with the Nidaros Cathedral.

The Abbey Church in Fécamp, France.
A growing friendship is developing with the Abbey Church in Fécamp.

The Cathedral Church in Lulea, Sweden.
While the Diocese of Norwich enjoys a link with the Diocese of Lulea in northern Sweden, the Cathedral is developing a link with the Cathedral Church in Lulea.

Norwich Cathedral’s International Links group co-ordinates all these links with our partner churches. For further information please contact the Dean's Office (01603 218308).
