The Bishop of Norwich has collated three new Lay Canons and four new Honorary Canons of Norwich Cathedral.
The Lay Canons are pictured with the Dean in their Cathedral robes. They are, reading the photograph from left to right, Henry Cator OBE FRICS DL, Paddy Seligman OBE and Jane Rivett.
The appointments were made by the Bishop of Norwich in consultation with the Dean. The new Canons were appointed in recognition of their work and Christian witness across the Diocese and in order that the Cathedral might benefit from their particular gifts and experience.
The Bishop collated the Canons, who were then installed by the Dean of Norwich, at Evensong on Friday 12 February.
The new Honorary Canons are (pictured from left to right) Alan Strange, Rector of Holy Trinity, Heigham; Ian Bentley, Rector of Oulton Broad; Tony Billett, Rector of Diss and Peter Nokes, Vicar of St Peter Mancroft, Norwich.
The Bishop collated the Canons, who were then installed by the Dean of Norwich, at Evensong on Sunday 7 February.
The appointments were made by the Bishop of Norwich in consultation with the Dean and are made in recognition of the work of the priests both in the Diocese and the wider Church.
Lay Canons and Honorary Canons form a bridge between the Diocese and the Cathedral and meet to reflect and advise on the life of the Cathedral. Jane Rivett will also be one of the two Lay Canons who sit on Chapter bringing their lay expertise and insight to the work of the Cathedral's governing body.
