During term time, Cathedral community members organise a Sunday School as part of the 10.30am Sung Eucharist on Sundays. This takes place in the Education Room and Community Room in the Hostry. On other Sundays a range of toys for children are available in St Catherine’s Chapel.
Everyone is very welcome!
At present there are two groups, a pre-school group and a group for 5 – 12 year olds.
Seats are reserved for the children, their parents and the Sunday School leaders to sit together, and a box of books is on hand to keep the young ones absorbed. These reserved seats can be found on the South side of the Nave, or please ask a steward who would be happy to direct you.
The Sunday School proceed out of the service at the beginning with a lighted candle and return during the Offertory Hymn.
Those leading the Sunday School follow a programme of learning and usually include singing and craft activities as part of the learning process. Each month we also have Godly Play with activities.
On the second Sunday of the month there is a Family Communion service at 9.15am. This service is very informal with songs and a childrens’ address, and only lasts thirty-five minutes.
