Introduction

Norwich Cathedral is not simply a building. From its foundation it has always been, and remains today, the heart of a living Christian community. Everyone who is part of the life, work and worship of the Cathedral is a member of the Cathedral community including regular worshippers, paid staff and all volunteers. This living community seeks to share the beauty and holiness of the Cathedral with all who come, and to live out the Cathedral’s Benedictine mission of worship, hospitality and learning.

The Cathedral community come together in many different ways including the following:

  • in worship, attending some of the many services held each week,
  • in pastoral care and support for each other and the wider community,
  • in a varied programme of social events,
  • in learning activities, such as running a Sunday School,
  • in helping with the organisation and running of the Cathedral, whether as paid staff or volunteers,
  • and in reaching out to welcome all who come to the Cathedral whether as visitors, pilgrims or worshippers.

We hope you will join us.
