Baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals and memorial services
We are often asked whether we hold such services in the Cathedral. We certainly do, but because we are a Cathedral the rules and guidelines differ from those applicable to parish churches.
Baptisms, Marriages and Funerals
Those who have a discernible connection with the Cathedral are welcome to approach the Canon Pastor to discuss the possibility of having a child baptised, or holding a wedding or funeral.
Confirmation
The Canon Pastor is very happy to respond to requests from both adults and young people (aged ten and above) to prepare them for confirmation. The Bishop holds Confirmation Services in the Cathedral three or four times a year.
Memorial Services
Memorial services are held in the Cathedral for those who have been connected with the Cathedral or Diocese of Norwich, or who have played a significant role in the life of Norwich or Norfolk. To discuss the possibility please contact any member of Chapter known to you personally or the Canon Pastor.
