The Cathedral's Master of Music, Ashley Grote, will be taking part in the London Marathon for the third year in succession on Sunday 23 April, once again raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. He has achieved an incredible target of £50,000 across the three years he has taken part.
The Cathedral's Master of Music, Ashley Grote, will be lining up with 37,000 runners this Sunday to take part in the London Marathon.
Ashley will run in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity for the third year in succession, motivated by the ongoing treatment his daughter Emily is receiving at Great Ormond Street. At the time of writing, he has raised over £50,000 across the three years, and has therefore achieved the target he set for himself, but further donations will be very gratefully received!
"So many of you have supported me with immense generosity over the past two years, and on April 23rd this year I will be running my third London Marathon in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity", said Ashley. "Thanks to your help I have already smashed the 3 year target of £50,000 - this year's total now stands at over £13,000 - so I have put the target up to £15,000.
"Emily continues to be under the care of GOSH and some incredible medical professionals who are world leaders in their field. We owe them an enormous debt of gratitude, and your support in raising another good sum for them would be so much appreciated by them as well as by me."
