In readiness for the festive season, Norwich Cathedral Choir has released its latest recording entitled ‘Christmas at Norwich’.

Featuring all the best-loved traditional carols alongside a selection of beautiful choral music for Christmas, the CD also includes items by composers with a particular connection to Norwich.

Music by Richard Allain (Director of Music, Norwich School), Michael Nicholas (Organist and Master of Music 1971-1994) and Philip Ledger (Professor of Music at UEA 1965-73), are complimented by pieces by Cathedral organist, David Dunnett, and current Master of Music, Ashley Grote.

Ashley, who directed the Choir for the recording, said:

"I am very excited about this new release of Christmas music from Norwich Cathedral. Not only is it wonderful to have on sale a recording of best-loved carols performed by our current Cathedral Choir, but it is particularly special that it includes carols and arrangements by composers who have a special link to Norwich. The CD really does bring a taste of Christmas at Norwich Cathedral to those who hear it, wherever they are listening."

Copies of the CD are available at the Cathedral Gift Shop, priced £10.00.
